Our Vision

WMREAB’s vision is ‘a region which proactively responds to the challenges of race inequality and empowers BME communities and the BME third sector.’

Purpose of WMREAB

The main purpose of WMREAB is to address race inequalities by achieving better engagement and outcomes for BME communities and the BME third sector in the West Midlands.

WMREAB’s Objectives

  • To raise the profile of race equality and issues affecting the BME third sector.
  • To review regional agencies’ progress on race equality issues
  • To help build a well informed BME third sector that is aware of and caninfluence regional policies that affect it.

WMREAB was developed out of a partnership of agencies which are working together to achieve common goals. It is not a legally constituted body and therefore some elements of WMREAB work are managed by an external agency. For the period to March 2008 the accountable body for receipt of funding to WMREAB is B:rap.
