Preet Shergill - Vice Chair

Preet is currently employed as Team Manager for Childrens’ Specialist  Service Birmingham City Council. She is also a Board member for Sikh Community Strategy, devising a 10-year strategic plan for all Sikhs nationally.

She is involved with social policy work for the Sikh Human Rights Group, focusing in particular on issues of Foeticide and Domestic Violence. As advisor to West Midlands CRE Hub for the West Midlands Strategic critical response group she has had an opportunity to develop considerable knowledge of ‘race’ equality issues. She has also worked as a social policy consultant for Sparrowhawk UK, and the National Council of Sikh Gurdwaras.

She brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience from her work as Project manager for Northampton Social Services, she has been a member of the Performance Action Team Birmingham City Council, working on issues of marketing.
